Property management was not the original plan. A little over 12 years ago Amy took a part-time administration role with Manage My Property and found the right fit. A background in retail and call-centre customer service came with her: communication, and a habit of solving the actual problem.
She worked through each part of that business until she had hands-on experience across residential management. When Lisa joined, their skills lined up. Different strengths, the same values. That partnership became Haven Home Rentals in May 2023.
No two days match, which is a large part of why she likes the work: protecting an owner's investment while tenants feel supported and respected.
Outside the office there are two teenagers, two dogs, four cats, eleven chickens and a garden that does not look after itself. Organisation is not optional.

Lisa did not plan on property management either. Customer service, retail and administration came first, including several years of retail admin. An administration job at Manage My Property looked like a change worth trying. They had already called her references before she got home from the interview.
She was never content to stay "the office girl". New work kept arriving, including leading the company's Healthy Homes compliance project. The responsibilities grew, and so did the knowledge.
After six years working with Amy, they backed themselves. That is how Haven started. Ten years into property management, Lisa still likes the variety, the people, and the fact the industry will not sit still.
Off the clock: family and friends, the garden, and another plant that will definitely fit.
